Thank you for visiting mattbarton.wikispaces.com. I currently teach at Woodland Park High School in Colorado. My classes include AP Language and Composition, Senior British Literature, and Leadership. Additionally I am the Student Council sponsor and the boys and girls Junior Varsity soccer coach.
My past experience has included teaching at an international school in Shanghai, China where I had the privilege of teaching IB English as well as being the IB Self-Study Supervisor and Extended Essay Coordinator. Previous to teaching in China I taught for 13 years in Colorado, where I had the opportunity to teach a wide range of courses across the curriculum.
In addition to my experience in the classroom, I have enjoyed the opportunity to work extensively as a coach, leader, and facilitator. Whether it has been as a head coach or in curriculum development, the opportunity to teach and improve professionally has made my 15 years in education a great adventure.
